W.M.L. Ranch in Madera Ranchos, California

WELCOME to WILD MOUNTAIN LIVESTOCK - W.M.L.!We are located in Central Valley California in Madera Ranchos. Madera Ranchos is 15 minutes North on Hwy.41 from Fresno, 15 minutes West of Clovis and 15 minutes East of Madera. We recently relocated from Bradley, California.  Wild Mountain Livestock Ranch is owned and operated by NICK & SUSAN RIVERA. We both share the love of the outdoors and livestock.
Nick oversees the Quarter Horse operations, training & feed programs.  Nick and Sue together, along with the help of their Daughters, Son, Son-in-law, Padrinos and Friends, are dedicated to continually improve and master the quality and production of all aspects of a "Family Ranch Business".

CATTLE OPERATION  -  "The Beginning"

We began Wild Mountain Livestock with a Cattle operation, ten (10) Commercial cross bred cows from Sue's Dad in Echo, Oregon and a Registered Black Angus Bull we purchased from a bull developer in Templeton, California. After a year of breaking into the cow-calf operation we decided to move into the Pure Bred Registered Black Angus breeding program. We then began our search for, and acquired, quality Registered Angus cows & additional herd sires to increased our herd size. We focused on the top 25% or better of breed on Expected Progeny Differences (EPD) and well known established bloodlines. Improving both the Dams and Herd Sires played an important role in improving the herd genetics and its production.

We continued to operate the Cattle business, Quarterhorse business and farmed our own feed (smooth beard barley) for 6 wonderful, unforgettable years.  We then decided to sell the entire herd and ranch land in Bradley to relocate to Madera Ranchos where we are continuing our business with the Quarterhorse Operations only. A special "Thank You" goes out to Anvil Bar Ranch (Bradley, CA.), Swan Family Angus (Templeton, CA.) and Ward Family-Zebra Ranch (Clovis, CA.). We wish you the best with your WML Cattle.

QUARTER HORSE OPERATION

While at the Bradley Wild Mountain Livestock Ranch, the natural progression from the Cattle business led to horses and just what Nick was waiting for. Nick's experience with wild horses, rodeo and starting colts when he was young never left his dreams. The Quarter Horse breed always being his true love, Nick searched for the perfect beginning and attended the Rick Machado "Main Event" horse auctions. Wild Mountain Livestock has invested in several young colts out of "Fresnos Ima Master" and "Buck N Tuff" Stallions. Starting these weanlings carefully, working them around cattle and handling them on a daily basis has developed gentle, trusting and lovable horses that are cattle savvy. Two of these lovable mares even produced two wonderful, strong offspring out of the sire "Cowmans Little Peppy", who is a true son of "Peppy San Badger". The two offspring are the stallion and one of the mares that are currently for sale. (see tabs above).

Relocating the Quarter Horse herd to Madera Ranchos was a very smooth and exciting move. The horses are quite at home and back to a regular training schedule. A list of the Quarter Horses for sale are in three different categories tabs; "Stallions for Sale", "Geldings for Sale" and "Mares for Sale". (see tabs above) Please call Nick for pricing and your private showing appointment. We look forward to seeing or hearing from you in the upcoming future. Come and visit us soon and pick out your new companion & friend...YOUR "Special Quarter Horse".
